As you know, the Mii Channel is built into every Nintendo Wii console. It allows gamers to create custom characters for use in selected games, or simply to make Miis for laughs or as a creative pursuit. The Wii is only about 6 months old, and Mii artists have already taken it next-level, effectively performing magic with the seemingly limited, clumsy, cut-and-paste Mii palette.

Each day this blog will feature a new Mii, constituting Mii art excellence; examples of the medium used to it’s full potential, with beautiful (or hilarious) results.

Alright then… the inaugural “Mii of the Day” is:

  • Notice the work around the eye area, the way the eyebrows sit snugly against the top of the eyes, as well as the unexpected nose selection - easily recognizable as Harrison Ford.
  • The Han Solo smirk and 1977 hairstyle are perfect touches.
  • The result is Han Solo’s signature, “cocky-yet-somehow-goofy” look.
  • It’s spot-on, it’s funny, it’s beautiful, and it’s Star Wars! Totally awesome.
