I’d briefly like to thank everyone who sent in entries… it was a lot of fun judging this thing! I hope readers enjoy the Miis as much as I did, and that your Mii Channel winds up being a funnier place for it.
Also, it was really tough, there were a lot of good Miis, and unfortunately some of them had to lose
That’s just the way it goes… and this is more than just a lame consolation line, it was my experience. I wanted many of them to win.. but being that I was unwilling to buy 5 Wii games to give away, I was left with a lot of tough decisions.
But, I’ve come up with results, I’m posting everything I was sent that met the submission requirements, and handing out mad props where they’re due.
Okay! The winner is……
Eugene Levy, by Ali420

Yep, it’s Jim’s Dad from American Pie. The SCTV guy. However you think of him. The detail in this Mii is great, and Ali didn’t copy a reference Mii, tweaking an existing design that was out there… there were no Eugene Levy Miis out there. Because no sane person would make a Eugene Levy Mii. Luckily, Ali isn’t sane, and as a result he wins!
For his trouble, and for his awesomeness, Ali wins a new Wii game of his choice!
And the runner-up is:
Paul Teutul, Sr., by rockabit

There are Miis of Orange County Choppers’ Paul Sr. in existence (two on miiplaza), but none came close to the one rockabit entered. For reference I’ve provided a pic of a Paul Jr. Mii, by jay… suckily for him, he didn’t enter our contest
Looking good Jay, send us something next time we do one of these…
For his great work, rockabit wins a brand-new nunchuk controller.
And the honorable mentions:
Lord Voldemort, by Michael Velez

Ganondorf, by George Ruggiero

Emperor Palpatine, by Bobby Bobby

Eddie Izzard, by Alex Hertzog

Fidel Castro, by rockabit

And the rest:

Make one of these, and get one of THESE

I’d like to officially announce another contest - Make a Mii and get a free, brand-new Wii game! Second prize will be a new nunchuk controller.
That’s right, all you have to do is create a celebrity Mii, take a photograph, and send it to admin@showmii.com.
Guidelines
-Send a reasonably-sized image file.
-Try to take a good picture - we will judge on the basis of your design, not photographic quality… but if the picture is too fuzzy, it’s hard for people to properly appreciate what you’ve done.
-Your Mii must NOT have been submitted elsewhere - we’re excited about the prospect of rolling out a bunch of Miis no one has seen before… and we will show ALL entries on these pages.
Also, by keeping your Mii secret, you prevent people from ‘borrowing’ your designs… from what I’ve observed in user-comment streams at miiplaza and elsewhere, it can cause great dismay when someone’s design is copied and slightly improved upon, and then the new artist gets all the cred (and in this case, all the prizes). So keep a lid on your new designs, until the contest entry deadline, July 10, 2007 July 15,2007 at Midnight PDT, Sunday night.
-Please, no Photoshopped Miis… every entry must be a design that’s acheivable in the Mii channel (no green, or fire engine red faces).
-You can make a Mii of any famous figure (anyone we can compare to the ‘real thing’ for reference) and this includes cartoon characters, game characters, etc.
-Have fun!
Bloggers, diggers and stumblers, please pass it on! The more the merrier, and we want everyone to have fun with this. As much fun as this guy seems to be having (and no, he’s not holding a beer):
